Are you happy with politicians who campaign on specific promises, only to do the opposite once in office? Are you happy when governments ignore the clear will of the people? Are you happy with politicians who beg for your vote as representatives, then once in office act as rulers?
Most of us are not. We want honest politicians who represent our interests with integrity, nor do we want them deciding what is “best” for us. Despite our disapproval of it, this pattern of dishonesty and disregard for voters has persisted for decades and is worsening.
This raises the question of – What can we do about it? We can vote them out at the next election, but that won’t solve the problem. They can cause significant damage in the meantime, then repeat the same empty promises.
We can’t leave it to the major party groupings (Liberal/National and Labor/Greens) to fix – because they have known about it for decades and have done little or nothing to fix it. It is apparently what they want to preserve.
Classic Liberals will solve the problem by addressing the root cause of it – which is the failure of our judiciary to perform the role society expects of them. If our courts lack the authority to check the legislature, we should grant it—through a referendum if necessary. If our judiciary has the authority but chooses not to exercise it, we must reform it.
The only party committed to restoring political integrity and to ensuring our politicians serve the people rather than rule them, is Classic Liberals, but it can’t do it alone.
So, it’s up to you – accept further political deceit or proactively support Classic Liberals. Only together can we ensure political integrity and representative government.
