What label?

Classic Liberals Australia (Classic Liberals Australia) will face attack from various quarters, pretty much from all sides. It essentially wants the opposite of what socialists want, so will be attacked by the Labour Party and The Greens. The trade unions will see Classic Liberals Australia as a threat because Classic Liberals Australia will significantly reduce the size of the public sector, will bring far more accountability and scrutiny to public infrastructure projects, and will decentralise education.

Classic Liberals Australia will also be attacked by big business. They will regard Classic Liberals Australia as a threat and so will probably strive to ensure its downfall. Why – because big business prefers a cozy incestuous relationship with government where they can get favours and protection. That won’t be possible under an Classic Liberals Australia government.  Also, the senior executives of big business want high immigration – because it is much easier to grow profits and enjoy handsome performance bonuses when the market size increases, when there are more people to sell to, than it is to increase profits by offering better value to customers than competitors do.

The pharmaceutical and agricultural chemical industries will see Classic Liberals Australia as a threat and so will do their best to see its demise. Since Classic Liberals Australia will threaten the survival of our mainstream media by largely eliminating a major source of their funding, government money, Classic Liberals Australia will face plenty of criticism from them as well. Classic Liberals Australia also threatens the lucrative income streams of solicitors – by revoking more laws and regulations than any government in our history – so Classic Liberals Australia won’t get much (if any) support from them. The judiciary will probably fiercely resist Classic Liberals Australia’s efforts to make them accountable and face adverse consequences for poor performance and other failures. The Liberal Party will be threatened by Classic Liberals Australia further eroding their voter base – due to Classic Liberals Australia’s DNA being more similar to that of their founding father, Robert Menzies, than reflected in recent Liberal Party decisions.  And those ordinary folk amongst us who parrot whatever they hear from MSM and big corporate, will also attack us.

Probably unsurprisingly, Classic Liberals Australia will also face attack from the Communist Party, which is an awkward mix of intellectuals and trade unionists. The trade unionists have the financial support and the numbers, so have traditionally hijacked the Communist Party.  The trade unions have ambitions for socialism – where there is a powerful government they control – while the intellectuals aim for a classless society of equals. Their idol, Karl Marx, believed that the path to utopian communism was through socialism. He was wrong in that regard – because once the socialists get power, they would rather kill masses of their people than relinquish it.  In time the intellectuals will recognise that the closest they will ever get to their utopian dream is a Classic Liberals Australia government. Nevertheless, Classic Liberals Australia will face fierce criticism from the Communist Party.

Given that Classic Liberals Australia will be attacked from all sides, some or other derogatory label will be put on Classic Liberals Australia So, let’s look at what Classic Liberals Australia is not:

Let’s start with the obvious, Classic Liberals Australia is not communist, nor is it socialist. It is also not ‘far-right’ – because that term connotes ultra-nationalist, anti-democracy and authoritarian, which Classic Liberals Australia is not. Similarly, Classic Liberals Australia is not fascist – because it is not ultra-nationalistic, not authoritarian and not socialist. Classic Liberals Australia is the antithesis of fascist and far-right.

Classic Liberals Australia is also not conservative. It does not want to maintain the status quo, nor does it wish to tinker with it, nor does it wish a continuation of our mixed economy – namely private ownership subject to much state control. Classic Liberals Australia wants change, lots of it.

Classic Liberals Australia is not progressive. Progressives, otherwise known as modern day liberals, are liberal with other people’s money, strive for equality of outcome rather than equality of opportunity, are soft on criminals and generally support any minority group and passionately advocate pseudo-intellectual policies and are for increasing social welfare. That’s on the other end of the spectrum to where Classic Liberals Australia sits.

That’s basically who Classic Liberals Australia are not. Let’s now consider who Classic Liberals Australia are:

Classic Liberals Australia is patriotic not nationalistic, democratic not authoritarian, and wants a small, transparent government focussed on its core duty of protecting us and our property and wants a free-market separating State and the economy, and the protection individual liberty.

The Classic Liberals Australia community are essentially communists at home, with their immediate families, and socialists amongst friends, and broader family and in their local community. Classic Liberals Australia community cares about and helps their friends and family and volunteers their time to schools (working bees, parent associations), sporting and other clubs, participate in the cleanup of local parks and contribute time and money to charities. Classic Liberals Australia encourage people to build strong communities and solve problems through voluntary interaction, rather than relying on the state to look after and make decisions for them.

As regards the economy, the Classic Liberals Australia community are capitalist, firm believers in a free market, a separation of state and the economy.  In that regard, Classic Liberals Australia will be the most beneficial party for the SME sector – because it will deliver lower taxes, more flexibility (as regards hiring and firing staff), lower regulatory burden, less red-tape and better access to capital. Classic Liberals Australia aims to make Australia the most favourable destination in the world for entrepreneurs.

Classic Liberals Australia is for those who want to be treated and respected as adults able to make their own decisions as to what’s best for them and their children.

The most accurate label that comes to mind for Classic Liberals Australia is – “the free market people”.
